justCommunity, Inc. Acquires Project CARE Training Program from LifeQuest

justCommunity, Inc., has acquired the Project CARE training and education program from LifeQuest Foundation, also located in Quakertown. justCommunity provides leadership in youth development, community mobilization and restorative justice to schools, government agencies and other organizations. The agency has worked very closely with LifeQuest Foundation for several years.
Project CARE was founded in 1985 in response to a series of substance abuse-related suicides in Upper Bucks County in 1983-84. Project CARE’s mission is to build healthy communities by promoting wellness, resiliency, and success through education and training.
Project CARE is a regional provider of Student Assistance Program (SAP) training. SAPs links schools, parents and community resources to remove barriers to school success and if necessary intervenes in substance abuse and mental health issues. In addition to SAP training, Project CARE offers consultations services and a series of workshops addressing topics in youth development for parents, school staff members, health and human services workers, and law enforcement personnel. Project CARE has educated more than 20,000 individuals involved in school and youth work throughout Pennsylvania.
“By integrating, justCommunity will increase its visibility and have new opportunities to educate and train key people that work with youth in the community,” says Roger Hiser, President of LifeQuest, Inc. “Project CARE gains a wealth of resources, new talent, and reach. The Project CARE mission blends perfectly with that of justCommunity.”
Project CARE will continue to receive financial support from its major corporate donor, US Restaurants, Inc, of Blue Bell, PA. Through the dedication of its President, Mr. Steven M. Lewis, and the enthusiasm of its staff, the US Restaurants has raised over $2.5 million dollars for Project CARE since 1985 “We are committed to continuing to support Project CARE and look forward to this partnership with justCommunity,” said Lewis.
Project CARE will also continue to administer the Steven M. Lewis Student Achievement Scholarship, which aids high school seniors who have benefited from the SAP process in high school, are living a drug-free lifestyle, and are furthering their education.
