As summer begins many of us find ourselves reflecting back over the accomplishments of the past year – whether we have children in school or not. With the change of seasons comes a change in activities, the culmination of sports efforts, and a shift in focus.Coalition members look back over the past school year and are extremely proud of the many accomplishments of our coalition and the impact we’ve had on our community. Highlighted stories of our recent accomplishments included in this newsletter are: our most recent Town Hall meeting where we shared the 2012 Student Support Card, continued efforts (and amazing results) with the spring Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, supporting youth and their families as they transition from elementary school to middle school, the most recent parent-chat held in Palisades and a county-wide recognition from our County Commissioners and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for involvement in the national Drug Take-Back Days. Consider how these activities have impacted you personally and your community as a whole.
During your summer reflect upon your own accomplishments and enjoy the relaxed pace and the outdoor activities. Remember to continue to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of our community youth.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy summer!
