Perkasie, PA – On Thursday, May 29th at 10 AM, the Upper Bucks Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Coalition (UBHCHY) will host their bi-annual town hall meeting at the Upper Bucks County campus of the Bucks County Community College in Perkasie, PA. During the event the UBHCHY Coalition will share the 2014 Upper Bucks Student Support Card. The Support Card includes the results of the bi-annual youth survey the UBHCHY Coalition has been conducting since 2002 with over 3,000 teenagers from Palisades, Pennridge and Quakertown school districts.
The town hall meeting will include students from all three Upper Bucks high schools (Palisades, Pennridge and Quakertown) along with students from the Buxmont Academy located in Sellersville. Representatives attending from other community sectors besides schools include law enforcement, government, treatment facilities, parents, youth organizations, faith communities and the media.
This event will coincide with the national prevention week, an annual observance sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to increase public awareness of, and action around, substance abuse and mental health issues.
