On October 12th, Palisades PACT sponsored a post-Homecoming “Pizza Social” at the Palisades High School cafeteria immediately following the homecoming game. The event was a success with over 80 students attending and enjoying free food and drink, coffee-house style music and various board and card games.

UBHCHY 2012 Town Hall Meeting
On Tuesday, May 22nd the UBHCHY Coalition shared the 2012 Student Support Card at a town hall meeting held at the Perkasie campus of the Bucks County Community College. The meeting was attended by nearly 100 persons, of which one-third were high school students from the Palisades, Pennridge and Quakertown high schools.
Parent Chat Update
A group of Palisades parents gathered on January 5th at the Ottsville Fire Company for a UBHCHY Coalition’s Parent Chat. The topic for the evening was Crime and Our Youth and the guest speakers were police officers from Upper Bucks County.

Lee Rush, Executive Director of justCommunity, visited Quakertown High School last fall to observe students using the online AlcoholEdu Program. Rush wanted to observe a participating health class using the course after obtaining a $15,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) to purchase the program.

On May 26th the UBHCHY Coalition will be hosting its annual Upper Bucks Youth Summit at the Upper Bucks YMCA. This year, participating schools include Milford Middle School, Palisades Middle School and Strayer Middle School.

Last year, students at Mustang High School, OK, who appeared to be high were sent to the principal’s office, where they claimed they’d tried something called “i-dosers.”
